A new era . . .

Six weeks ago, to the day. A tightening and discomfort in the lower back. I’d felt this before; infrequently. But almost unheard of in my nearly sixty-five years. Worse in the afternoon. I got up from my desk, pushed aside work and the computer. Stretched. Walked around. The minor aches and pains of life, or so I thought. Then I continued my typical Friday afternoon in the office. Little did I know, or anticipate, what was coming. Thought nothing of it, even pushing the mower around the yard that evening. But when I woke on Saturday, and as the day progressed, the pain in my leg began to cripple me. Little did I know, a new era of my life had begun . . .
